Step Right Up
04:58
|
|||
I am the glass, I am the hammer
I am the pattern
I may shatter, I am the shrapnel
So hard to swallow
I am the internal bleeding
One more eternal reason
Paranoia keeps me company
Classic lines for the cliched times
Always seem to get me through these awkward moments
I’ll nurse this beer until last call
If you keep looking over your shoulder
You’re never gonna see what’s next
And I know you’ll want to see it coming
These dreams, they may be fragile
But I can’t let go
Won’t let go
Step right up and let them destroy you

I’ll wait until it snows
For you my love
Until I dig my grave
These nights are way too short
To cut myself and count the scars
We tried so hard to become
The people we wanted to be
Ever since we left our hometowns
For the cities we call home
Now this train has left, we’ll jump on the next one
Take us all away from here
Where we can be more
Find more
Try more
If we ever get the chance
But somehow I don’t think we will
At least not tonight
After all this time I’d thought you’d understand
That this journey has taken a lot out of all of us
And we’re not even halfway there
Now we’re approaching the half-life of cities
After all this time you still don’t know

When The Lights Go Out
03:37
|
|||
Let me warn you now
You may not like who I am
When the lights go out
It’s Friday night, where my bitches at?
You know I got some mansplaining to do
I’m so fucking sick and tired of this sobriety holding me back
From telling all you people just exactly what I think of you
Oh I’m coming up so you better get this party started
You want to question my intentions
But it’s only a deflection, it’s not the reason why
Every word I said was all a lie
I made you believe my alibi
I wish I felt something when I watched you cry
I’m sorry I’m so weak inside

Kill The Horses
05:25
|
|||
Faith, my Lord, was all we ever had
Our sons were born to work the fields and till the soil
Life mundane but little do they know
That miles from here men are on their way
They’re storming through the kitchen doors
Machetes blazing in their shaking hands
Desperation is their only course
The children first, they do not care
This is murder in it’s purest form
Motivated by not love or greed
The bodies piled on the porch
As gasoline is poured throughout the house
A single match is dropped onto the floor
They killed the horses
They burnt the house down
They set fire to the cornfields
The sins of the father handed down
As we watch history repeating itself
One more prayer has gone unanswered
The sun sets upon the ashes of justice

Clear Out The Station
03:42
|
|||
A spark of light
The hammer hits the spike
So hot and wet
As bullets tear through flesh
Call out the name
Call out and claim your just reward
Spit out the blood
Collecting in your lungs
I won’t be part of your plans anymore
I won’t play God with their lives in my hands
So I may die, but so will you by my side
I just wish I could kiss my wife one last time
Spit out the blood
It’s pooling on the floor
It’s much too late to hit that failsafe
I told you not to touch that pressure valve
Now look at what you’ve made me do
Clear out the station
Please save yourselves before it’s too late
The water’s rising
To wash us away without a trace

The Calling
04:44
|
|||
The radiation permeates my body
The silence
It envelopes me and lasts for what seems like a lifetime
Whisper softly
Like a lover in an endless sea
I’ll meet you in the morning at the embassy
All I ever wanted was to set you free
Whisper softly
In the times that you carry me
Reservation card in the theatre seat
Wrapping up the corpse in the tattered sheets
Whisper softly
In the way that you know I need
Look upon my face, why can’t you see
That you really are just a part of me?
The dimensions of this room empty
They echo on for the moment
So few memories
The parts that makes a sound fall dead at our feet
Meeting ends

Change Methodical Edmonton, Alberta
Change Methodical debuted in 2000 bridging the gap between the established technical skatepunk
of the late 90s
with the emerging screamo/post hardcore sound of the early 00s. Winding, unpredictable songs filled with fury and emotion brought them to the forefront of the diy punk scene in Alberta until their disbandment in 2010.
